2016 Resolutions

2016 is my chance to step it up a notch. I'm not pregnant and will be done breastfeeding in less than a month. That means I will have a whole lot more energy than last year and with a baby sleeping through the night now, I have some sanity restored.  Here is how I'm going to go big:

✔️ Take a minimum of two girls only trips. Give my littles some special Alaskan Assasin time and get away! Reconnect with my bests and be me. Explore new places, foods and shops. Share our stories and bask in the happiness that my girlfriends bring me.

✔️ Take a minimum of two trips with the Alaskan Assassin. We celebrate our 10th anniversary this year and 14 years all together. That big studly man is all mine and I want to enjoy him without the everyday distractions of life.

✔️ Get some special one on one time with my littles. Maybe a spa night a week with Roo. Perhaps a big kids movie night once a week. Family home evenings with board games, chapter books and home made snacks. Sometimes I'm so routined that I'm hurrying through dinner, baths and books so that they are in bed by 7:00. I need to chill. Enjoy their little stories about the day. Tickle their backs and whisper sweet nothings in their ears. These ages are so precious, I don't want to rush them away because of the time on the clock.

✔️ Cook dinner 6 nights a week. Eeeeeew, this one will be rough. The Alaskan Assassin made a comment back in 2015 that the eggs I made for breakfast had no love in them. I cracked those suckers into the pan, cooked them on high as fast as I could and plopped them on them on the plate without adding cheese or veggies. Cooking is the worst, but I love my family and want them to be healthy. I need to take the time to plan and cook. Not just reheat...

✔️ Get to the gym! Shay Bae Bae can handle herself alone in the daycare room for an hour while I take the group classes I enjoy. Running isn't going to get my butt back to where I want it. I gotta get it done this year.

✔️ Be the kind of partner I want the Alaskan Assassin to be to me. Be patient, kind and playful. Don't take offense so easily. Reach out more throughout the day and let him know I'm thinking about him. Let the crazy shiz that happened with the littles during the day go and don't spend the hours after their bedtime harping on it. Enjoy each other!

✔️ Give myself  8 extra minutes to get the littles in the car before school. There is no need to freak out and scream like a crazy lady when a shoe is missing, his socks feel too tight, her shoes don't match her dress and where are those damn coats?! Perhaps organizing the mudroom would help this as well...
