Dolphins, Fish, and Iguanas Oh My!

Here are a few insider tips that we picked up:

The Dolphins get fed at 8:30ish in the morning. Grab some Starbucks and fruit and pastries and pull up a chair and watch. The dolphins get so excited they start doing tricks. My newly one year old got the biggest kick out of this. She said her first phrase this trip, "See it?!!" And then she would point to the water and say, "Dolphin!"

If you want to swim with the dolphins, make sure to book that at least two weeks before your trip. It fills up fast.

Leading up to this vacation, the Felon and I would look up fishing pictures off the Florida Keys on instagram daily. He wanted to catch me a maui-mahi super badly. A fishing charter from the resort is about $1,000... a fishing charter from a friend of a friend is about $500... a fishing charter out of Marathon, Florida on a boat called The Marathon Lady costs $45 and kids 5 and under are FREE! It is 11 miles from resort with free parking, US Coast Guard licensed and inspected, full safety equipment, and the finest electronic fish finding equipment. They caught 20 fish between 8:30-12:30 and then the crew there cut and cleaned the fish and sent them on their way. Our boys made us the yummiest fish dinner that night and the Felon was so proud of himself and loved every bite.

Iguanas and lizards come out of the trees while you sunbathe and walk right by you. Some are the size of dogs. The felon was entranced by them. They were useful in getting Roo out of the pool because there was no other way to persuade her out.
