How to do the Bronx Zoo

They say that Spring hits the city first, so when my weather app said it would be 73 in the city and 55 in The Hamptons on Wednesday I got the heck out of dodge. We skipped school, packed a huge bag of snacks and left at 9:30 to miss the traffic. It takes an hour and twenty minutes to get there which gives you enough time to park and get into the park at the Sea Lion's feeding time. I recommend parking at lot B which is right off of the Bronx River Parkway. It is an easy on and easy off spot to get on the road quickly. Wednesdays are free, which I stumbled on and had no idea.  We brought a scooter for the Felon, which the ticket lady told me aren't allowed at the park, and a double stroller for the girls. The Felon scootered all 265 acres of the park without anyone stopping us to say he couldn't. So maybe break a rule and sneak the scooter in. There is a lot of walking involved and it makes a HUGE difference.  I did pay the $10 winter fee for 3 year olds and over so that we could go on all of the rides, see the 4D movie and get into Asia. The bug carousel and Asia were definitely worth the money, but the day was too gorgeous to sit in a movie so I skipped that. I recommend getting out of there before traffic starts at 3:00. Everyone will be tired by then anyways. It is totally worth the trip!
