Mental Health Day
Last Friday I walked out of my step class. I kept messing up the choreography and couldn't get my concentration back, so I quit. I figured I'd run 3 miles and then do the leg press, but then the baby spotted me from the kids room and cried. The workout was over and I was pissed. The competitive D1 athlete in me was disgusted with myself for giving up. I carried the grumpy mood over into the weekend and needed to fix it today. So I made it to the 8 am class at the gym and it felt good. The trainer went over some of the step choreography with me after that class, so I stayed for the 9:15 and did much better than Friday. Then I stayed for one more class because it's raining and it felt good. After a long shower I decided to make today one for my favorite mornings and grabbed the Felon and headed to the North Fork. We ordered hot chocolate, bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, banana and chocolate chip pancakes and veggie omletes. He talked my ear off about Duck Tales and Star Wars and then we bought some healthy snacks next door and headed back. We treated ourselves to Easter candy at the Jamesport General store and made it home before the baby woke from nap. Sometimes you need to get out and force yourself out of a bad mood by doing your favorite things. If you are a mom this can be hard, but as the head of your household it's so important that you find time to take care of yourself. Both physically and mentally.
