Towd Point Beach

Punky had her first real taste of the beach and tiny waves this weekend and we had to carry her home kicking and screaming. The perfect spot for new swimmers is Towd Point in North Sea/Southampton.  You don't need a beach permit to go here and the walk to the waters edge is short.  The beach is filled with tiny orange and yellow shells that my littles love to collect. Roo is spoiled by the white sand beaches next to our house and wants water shoes for this beach, so be prepared.  On the other side of that, if your little loves rock collecting bring some buckets! Boats come in and out from the canal on the side of this beach which cause some fun boogie boarding waves for the Felon and the water stays shallow for quite a long time.  The Alaskan Assassin and the Felon love to swim out to the little island across the way to explore. Put this special spot on your summer bucket list.

Sunday Best: Memorial Day Weekend 2016

Memorial Day weekend is upon us and the weather yesterday in Sag Harbor was picture perfect. There are so many new restaurants open this year to try, but I would 100 percent rather be at a BBQ with my friends and family.  Hots dogs, cheeseburgers, ribs, chips and dip with a smorgasbord of desserts is my jam. Bathing suits and beach coverups or board shorts and baseball hats are my squad's uniform for the summer. Who needs the crowded restaurants and main streets when our littles can run free with their buddies behind the privet hedges while picking at food as they please? 

The Best Market makes its Debut in Westhampton Beach

Yesterday was a huge day for Westhampton Beach. Some might say it was the best day yet. The summer weather came to stay and The Best Market opened where the old Walbaums used to be. I was on double baby duty this morning and decided to get the youngest to fall asleep in the stroller to make  it easier. Once she was down, we walked from Main Street to see what the hype was about. Holy Moly, was it amazing! To get a good feel for the size of the store and aisles, I shopped with the babies in the Bob stroller and perused the market. Everything is brand spanking new and clean. The girls and I easily made our way through checking the salad bar, olive bar, sushi station (with 5 chefs), juice station, meat counter, cheese counter, baked goods area, fruit, veggies, flowers, already made meals and so on. The variety was immense, the staff friendly and the aesthetic pleasing. You can buy everything from beach toys and organic produce to sugary cereal and Carvel cakes. It's going to be a great summer.
