Summer Solstice in the Hamptons

Happy Summer Solstice! Today is officially the first day of summer and the longest sunlight of the year. To make it even more special we are expecting a "strawberry moon" tonight. This hasn't happened since 1967 and is described as a moon that is very low and has an amber glow. The littles are asleep by 7 and will miss the moon, but I made sure they enjoyed their last day of school today with some wave jumping before bed. I think I now enjoy the beach after 5 better than the beach during the day. The heat of the day is fading so no one overheats and burns and the Alaskan Assassin is back from work and ready to join in our summer fun. We splashed around at Dolphin Lane Beach after dessert and they fell asleep the second their little towheads hit the pillow.
