The Ritz Carlton Aruba
I just spent the last four days in paradise exploring an island that the Alaskan Assassin and I have never been to. Aruba is four and a half hours by plane from New York. The air was hot, but there was a constant breeze that left you refreshed and relaxed. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, which is about a 20 minute drive from the airport. The island is so small that you can drive from one end to the other in 35 minutes. It is18 nautical miles from Venezuela where magma from a volcano there formed this island. There are rolling hills and flat coastal regions. It is clean and beautiful and most importantly to me, safe. The water was crystal clear and the sail boats were impressive. While laying under the palm trees at the hotel, waiters came by on segways and handed out Popsicles and waters without being asked. Anything could be ordered and delivered to the pool or beach, but I was most impressed by all that was included with the hotel. They set up your towels and umbrellas and had SPF stations by every pool, cabana, and beach spot where you could use the Ritz Carlton's SPF 15 or 30, fill up your water, and grab a baby diaper. All included with your stay. Bottled waters were everywhere along with granola bars, so that you could easily throw them in your beach bag and explore. The hotel was built in 2013 so everything was new and clean. I won a 8 day trip to any island in the Caribbean while we were there and we might just use it to bring the littles back here because we were so impressed. Here are a few pictures of the scenery:
