Summer Family Bucket List
This Spring, as I was chucking camp brochures and deleting emails, I made the decision that my family and I were having a good old fashion summer. There would be no drop off at 9 and pick up at 12, followed by lunch, naps, down time and then playdates. It wasn't going to be a total free schedule, though. I joined a yacht squadron with sailing, tennis, and swimming lessons and some of the greatest people in town. Our family summer bucket list includes Roo learning how to swim (so close to checking that off for good), enjoying her best friends here and far out East, dancing on piers, boardwalks and pool decks, and building lots of beautiful drip castles for her Barbies. The Felon will be getting a taste of tennis, sailing and swim team. Along with having epic water balloon fights with his boys, Marco Polo competitions, capture the flag stand offs, followed by a little crabbing and fishing while learning to read with me at night. Punky hopes to learn new words and make new friends while getting those 3 hour naps on in her stroller, in the shade. Lots of BBQ, paddle boarding, skim boarding, kayaking, boogie boarding, body surfing, book reading, napping and sleeping in. With a few random road trips and pool parties at Nana and Pop's. Most importantly, relaxing and feeling 100% ok if we all feel like scrapping the daily lessons and watching TV on the couch. If you haven't made your Summer bucket list yet, rally the troops and get on it.
