The Sagamore Resort
We made our 4th annual summer road trip to Lake George this past week. The Alaskan Assassin and I love to explore new places, but have decided that Upstate New York is just too special and too close to not visit every year. We stay at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing which is situated on a private island in the lake. Each year they upgrade us to suite with a kitchen, living room, fire place, deck over the lake and large bathroom. But this year they surprised us with a condo! You walked into a hallway with a large family room on one side and a huge "monkey bed" room on the other. The bunk bed room had four beds, a gliding chair for rocking babies and a beautiful bathroom. The family room had a porch over looking the lake and was connected to a fully stocked kitchen and gorgeous dining room. The dining room has a large Stickley table with 8 chairs and a view of the water. The stairs lead to a floor with two beds and then a third floor master with an office, huge bathroom and balcony over the water. The best part of the condo was that it was baby proofed! The top and bottom of the stairs had a gate and the bunk beds had ladders that you remove and store under the bed so the baby wouldn't climb. The second you leave your room it is cleaned making this resort a perfect place to truely relax and unwind. There are three pools and one hot tub. There is also two swimming holes in the lake and a fishing dock stocked with all the watersport accessories you need. There is no need to worry if it rains because there is a huge rec center with baseball, mini golf, basketball, rock climbing, ping pong, foosball , baby toys and video game center. It takes about 5 hours with traffic to get there from the Hamptons, so I reccomend going a day early and camping to make the most of your stay. More on that later...
