Star of the Week

Here is the perfect snapshot of Roo at this moment in time and my parenting style.

Roo is star of the week and she gets to "decorate" and draw a poster and I get to write down what she wants it to say. I'm not one of those mothers who is going to decorate it for her or tell her that something doesn't sound exactly like I want it to. I taught kindergarten and I always knew when something was done for the little and I never wanted to be that mom. I am the kind of mom who will lay out the stickers, crayons and glue. This is her project and I want her to be proud of "her" work. She wasn't into the drawing and embellishments. She was very into what she wanted the bubbles to say. Chewing gum is her biggest accomplishment in life thus far and in a perfect world she would be doing it on a vacation to Disney with a mani/pedi and some baby dolls.

We couldn't make that happen today, so Play Hooray at the library whilst chomping on some gum it is. Enjoy her dance moves. I know Shay did.
