Cardboard Box Christmas Forts

All of those online Christmas orders are rolling in and we have an abundance of boxes. It is also getting dark at 4:00pm now and we are stuck inside looking for ways to get the sillies out. Best game this week for us is playing forts. After 4:00pm, that is, because this sixty degree weather is unbelievable and we are at the beach everyday.  I grabbed a string of lights and the biggest box we have. I took the wine cork screw and poked holes into the top of the box and then let the littles poke the lights into the top by themselves. That was a fun game in itself! Then we plugged it in and their imaginations did the rest.  There are now cave drawings with washable markers all over it and pillows and blankets inside. Good old fashion fun!
