Hamptons Sip and See

My best friend was violently sick the first half of her pregnancy. We would be on our morning walks and she would be vomiting into neighbors bushes. Then right as that started to pass, she started real labor contractions. One would think that a baby would come early because of this, but that was not the case. For months she was having serious labor pains. Finally she was induced at close to 42 weeks. Whoever said pregnancy lasts 9 months is doing mamas everywhere a huge disservice. It lasts at least 10 months! It was all worth it in the end when sweet Taylor made her appearance on thanksgiving as 9 lbs 12oz. I didn't throw her a sprinkle before the baby because she was struggling so much and the gender was going to be a surprise anyway. So a sip and see was planned for a few weeks after her birth at our dear friend Colette's house.  Plants by Sophie Gitto decked the halls with beautiful poinsettias.  Our guests enjoyed crossaints with local sweet butter and jam from the farm stand in Speonk, Cron Shack, along with bacon, sausage and spinach quiches by Zuzi. We sipped coffee and Rum Chata and mimosas while fawning over our precious new baby.  Guests left with miniature gingerbread houses and the lingering newborn smell from sweet Taylor's snuggles.
